I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember.
I’ve been creating art since I was a young boy. Fondly, I remember sitting at our dining room table looking out the large picture window drawing the trees. Our neighbor, who was an artist, offered to support and guide me which helped to ignite my artistic fire. My parents were also key to my development and encouraged me to follow my passion.
I took art classes locally and was fortunate to attend a high school in Framingham, MA with an amazing art program. My training continued in college where I received a BFA in painting from UMass/Dartmouth followed by earning an MFA degree from Kent State University in Ohio. Both programs had first rate faculty who challenged me to achieve my best.
Life caught up with me. I had to make a living which brought me back to school at UMass/Dartmouth for further studies in design. I needed a stable income and wanted the opportunity to create every day. After 2 years I began taking on freelance assignments, as one position led to another. The years flew by and I married, had a family and created a niche in the advertising and publishing fields rising to the position of Creative Director. I won awards, ran a company, established myself in a wonderful community and didn’t pick up a brush seriously for over 35 years.
I missed painting. Life’s priorities didn’t allow me the time. I was always creative, just not in the way of the fine artist. In 2016 after ending full time work in the design field I started painting. My wife never knew me as a painter and noticed right away my newfound happiness.
I still work as a designer part-time, it’s in my blood. Otherwise you will find me at my easel creating images on canvas or paper. Currently I’m working on a floral series and living life to the fullest.
My storefront is a way to promote my original work while also offering high quality reproduction prints to a larger audience.
